ABOUT ME

I have a background in dance and fitness and have a First Class Honours degree in Dance Studies from Roehampton University.  I began a corporate career in IT in the city, but I soon realised it was having a negative impact on my mind and body. Participating in Pilates classes I noticed a real improvement in my posture and wellbeing. Having always been interested in anatomy and body movement, I enjoyed witnessing and understanding how Pilates could help with maintaining and improving general health and alleviating injuries.  Consequently, I started my Pilates training at Body Control Pilates in London, and qualified in 2016.

I am enthusiastic about teaching and working with different bodies, helping people to benefit from this full mind and body workout.  As Joseph Pilates said, "The acquirement and enjoyment of physical wellbeing, mental calm, and spiritual peace are priceless to their possessors."

I have a passion for knowledge and enjoy learning, so continue to take courses to improve my movement and body understanding which in turn supports and enhances my teaching.

I now teach Pilates Group and Private Classes around Bexley in Southeast London.  I am a member of the Body Control Pilates Association and Academy.  I am also a qualified pre- and post-natal Pilates teacher.

WHY PILATES?

Pilates is a movement technique for all ages and abilities.  It focuses on a combination of improving and maintaining the posture and strength of the whole body, as well as concentrating and relaxing the mind.  By focusing on alignment, breathing, and centring, the body's posture, muscle tone, balance and movement mobility can be improved.  

 

Pilates is recognised for helping with back issues and consequently by moving and articulating the spine and pelvis correctly, it can assist in reducing back pain.
